Sample Assembler

Manufactures and assembles product and project-specific solution samples for presentation to potential customers, key influencers, and use by WBA sales representatives. Samples are used for various purposes from project specification requirements to a visual representation of our products or project-specific solutions to Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Contractors in marketing presentations.

Qualifications: Formula for Success

  • High school diploma or equivalency required
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings and other written instructions
  • Ability to use a Manufacturing Resource Planning (“MRP”) system
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications to create and edit documents
  • Use of hand tools to form and join components together into finished samples

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds above shoulder height when standing
  • Ability to pass annual health physical and hearing conservation testing
  • Ability to pass all required medical examinations required prior to issuance and use of personal protective equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to, eye tests
  • Ability to wear all required PPE
  • Ability to stand and walk for minimum two (2) hour periods of time.
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks while bending, stooping, or kneeling if required

Principal Responsibilities

  • Read and understand shop drawings and other written instructions to prepare for assigned tasks
  • Fabricate, assemble, and finish sample/demonstration models for various product lines by using equipment such as a table saw, band saw, aluminum break, and a variety of portable hand tools
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure materials are procured, assembled, and manufactured so finished samples can be assembled to customer’s expectations
  • Create, maintain, and communicate a work activity report on a regular basis including, but not limited to, receiver of samples, quantity, ship date, and proposed and/or received project samples
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement to increase visibility on in-process status and suggested tools, processes, or sundries to improve sample quality where necessary or required
  • Monitor sample requests through WBA Corp website or other sources as directed and commence requests within 24 hours
  • Accountable for shipping samples out in a timely manner and communicating expected ship dates directly to requestors
  • Responsible for clean-up of work area upon completion of each work order activity
